Engineering – Slayers of Software Innovation

Our engineering team is tasked with developing cutting edge technology that makes, well, everyone else’s lives easier, automating processes and using machine learning to make better decisions. Already gone are the days of wading through various rank tracking tools and Excel reports to choose keywords, or making one-off copy optimizations – what’s next is anyone’s guess (really your guess – for them, it’s outlined in their product roadmap and sprint plan).

What drew you to Demand Signals?

The opportunity to work with a small team on an exciting project. We are providing our clients with a service and knowledge of an untapped resource. Tapping this resource provides organic leads and brand awareness our clients have never seen before.

What are you most proud of?

The release of our new Nav 3.0 platform. This platform provides new functionality, including our analytics dashboard, which gives the user visualizations of how their Navigator articles are performing.

What are you most excited about?

Besides spending every work day with Fig . . . building out Nav 3.0 to its full potential and getting our product in front of excited prospects.

Content – Operators of Optimization

The content team at Demand Signals is a highly-trained team of writers who understand your brand, your customers, and Google. They’re tasked with creating content that drives value for all three audiences, so that you rank highly, earn traffic, and convert customers.

Caitlin Barrett, Senior Copywriter

Caitlin Barrett, Senior Copywriter:

What do you do at Demand Signals?

I spend my days creating on-brand and search-engine-optimized content for our clients. It’s all about capturing the intent of a keyword and providing our clients’ readers with value.

What are you most proud of?

Of course, seeing my coworkers’ and my content at the top of a Google search results page feels great, but I’m also really proud of the collaborative spirit our team has fostered. If one of us has a question, we know that anyone on the team is going to be able to answer it or at least try to help.

How do you collaborate with other teams within Demand Signals?

My collaboration style is very much “get up and walk to someone’s desk and ask a question,” and the beauty of Demand Signals is that no one seems to mind. Whether it’s collaborating with Services to get more information on SEO best practices or collaborating with Marketing to build out a social media strategy, I never feel like I’m bothering anyone by asking questions or sharing ideas.

Accounts – Champions of Client Relationships

The Account Development team is the team that knows your business, brand, and strategy inside and out. They thrive on working closely with our clients to deliver actionable insight and quantifiable business results.

Katie Smith, Account Manager

Katie Smith, Account Manager:

What do you do at Demand Signals?

I am the first person that clients reach out to with daily communication, Q&A and delivering feedback/requested deliverables. I work directly with our clients to deliver Navigator and Organic Search Performance Results. Our team also strategizes together to help identify further areas of focus for clients within the organic marketing channel.

What are you most proud of?

Being a part of clients’ successes! Many of our clients require an educational approach to the work we are doing on a daily basis, and many times along the way you are also learning things yourself.

Seeing clients light up over the performance they’ve seen with Demand Signals is priceless and what makes coming to work each day fun!

How do you collaborate with other teams within Demand Signals?

Our team is in cross-communication across all teams of Demand Signals on a daily basis. We are constantly working together, whether it be content, performance, engineering or sales. The accounts team has full interaction across all facets of the business.

Performance – Protectors of Performance

Our performance consulting team is responsible for turning data into insight, understanding how Demand Signals is driving results and where we need to dig in deeper to better understand a challenge. This team often foreshadows future product features as they continue to push the boundaries on analytics, insights, and process improvements.

Win Pratt, Performance Consultant:

What do you do at Demand Signals?

I liaise with our Accounts, Engineers and Content teams to make sure out product and services are meeting the goals of our clients, and taking steps to help push the needle further. My day to day includes internal and external reporting, keyword process improvements and performance analytics. All of this helps inform processes for client growth.

What drew you to Demand Signals?

I’ve been at Demand Signals for two years. I was excited to join the early team at Three Ships (the team that would grow and become Demand Signals) that was tasked with a special SEO process to help identify value in the keyword selection and SEO content sectors. We drive incremental value in SEO for key clients through predictive SEO. Our technology continues to improve and our capabilities are always growing.

What are you most proud of?

I’m proud to see all the teams collaborate positively, and with good attitudes, for the good of our clients. No one at Demand Signals is content with any of our clients failing when its within our power to help them succeed. In my day to day, I enjoy seeing the tools I’ve built for our team being used daily to help drive value both internally and externally.

How do you collaborate with other teams within Demand Signals?

I’m thankful for the chance to get work with most of the teams at Demand Signals. I help Sales prospect new clients with preliminary keyword research, build tools and drive the keyword process for Content, provide performance analysis and reporting for Accounts and help inform product direction with Engineering.

Sales – Validators of Vision

Our sales team is much more than sales. Through constant conversations with enterprise performance marketers, they build an in-depth view of what challenges CMOs face and where Demand Signals can help – not today, but also driving forward product vision.

Mike Brown, Head of Sales:

What drew you to Demand Signals?

A few things drew me to Demand Signals. Number one, I loved that Demand Signals built a product from the inside out as opposed to a shiny interface with all the bells and whistles that doesn’t drive value. It was clear early on during my due diligence that the Navigator platform was unique and unlike anything else today within a billion-dollar market.

I was fortunate to be an integral part of another tech start-up that had a successful exit, and I saw Demand Signals as an opportunity to apply all my learnings and knowledge from that experience to a new challenge, where this time I could lead the charge toward market disruption. I saw a platform that had the ability to disrupt the market and become a leader.

We are changing the game for clients by identifying areas of demand they didn’t know existed and consistently delivering value without them having to spend much time at all within the platform.

We’re removing the guesswork and hours of research and allowing content marketers to do what they love: write compelling content that drives engaged traffic, leads, conversions and ultimately revenue that their business can depend on.

How do you collaborate with other teams within Demand Signals?

As a member of our outstanding leadership team, I am constantly in communication with my counterparts who oversee the other teams to ensure we are all strategically aligned on all facets of the business: product, services, performance, messaging, and execution.

Given that I am the one speaking to the market on a daily basis, I have a constant feedback loop with the product, performance and services team to communicate back what the market is saying to ensure we are continuing to evolve our product in line with their needs. I also work closely with our account development team to better understand what our current clients are saying as those relationships mature, which helps me identify where the pain lies within the next prospective client.

What are you most excited about?

Similar to what I referenced earlier, I’m ecstatic about the opportunity we have to disrupt the market and drive real, quantifiable results for our clients.  In a crowded, fragmented market, Demand Signals has a differentiated solution and approach that makes our clients lives easier and makes them look like superheroes internally.
